#Roommates, it’s that time again, the nominations for the 2020 Billboard Music Awards have just been announced! While it’s been a very big year for hip hop and R&B, there have been a few artists who have managed to garner multiple nominations – notably Lil Nas X and Kanye West who are two of the most nominated artists of the year.

@ Billboard reports that first-time contestant Lil Nas X received an astonishing 13 nominations for his record-breaking hit “Old Town Road”. He is nominated for Top New Artist, Top Male Artist, Top 100 Artist, Top Streaming Songs Artist, Top Rap Artist and Top Male Rap Artist, to name a few. In the meantime, Kanye West has a lot to celebrate as his gospel album “Jesus Is King” found great love with Billboard voters.

Kanye received nine Billboard Christian nominations, including Top Christian Artist, Top Gospel Artist, Top Christian Album, Top Gospel Album, and Top Christian Song. That is not all, because Ye will also fight against himself for the top gospel song, in which “Closed on Sunday”, “Follow God”, “On God” and “Selah” are nominated in this category. Other artists that have received nominations this year include DaBaby, Roddy Rich, Lizzo, Khalid, Drake, Chris Brown, Summer Walker, and The Weeknd. You can see the full list of nominees on Billboard.com.

Kelly Clarkson will once again host the Billboard Music Awards, which will be streamed live on NBC from the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 14th at 8:00 p.m. (CET).

This year’s awards are based on the chart period from March 23, 2019 to March 14, 2020, which was originally planned for April 29, 2020, but has been postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
