The Saudi Arabia-led coalition claims Houthi rebels launched an attack on Abha Airport that caused a fire in a civil aircraft.

The Saudi Arabia-led coalition fighting the Houthi rebels says the Yemeni rebel group launched an attack on Abha Airport and caused a fire in a civilian plane that has been brought under control.

“A cowardly terrorist attack by the Houthi militia on Abha International Airport … A civilian plane on the airport premises was exposed to a fire that has been brought under control,” Saudi state television Al-Ekhbariya quoted the coalition as saying on Wednesday.

There were no further details.

Yemen’s Houthi movement has historically fired drones at Abha International Airport in southern Saudi Arabia.
