EXCLUSIVE: Amazon Studios and Echo Lake Entertainment adapt the NY Times bestseller “I Got Your Number” from author Sophie Kinsella. Kirsten “Kiwi” Smith and Jessica O’Toole are included to write the adaptation.
Dakota Fanning will co-produce with Brittany Kahan Ward and Mary Jane Skalski of Echo Lake Entertainment and Joey Plager and Freddie Highmore through his Alfresco Pictures. Claire Londy of Alfresco Pictures will serve as executive producer.
The novel is a romantic comedy of mistakes with a lost engagement ring, a stolen cellphone and two strangers who find each other … just when one of them is about to marry another.
Kinsella is best known for her shopaholic novel series, which was translated into the 2009 film Confessions of a Shopaholic starring Isla Fisher. Since her debut in 1995, Kinsella’s books have sold over 40 million copies in more than 60 countries and have been translated into over 40 languages.
Smith’s credits include Legal Blonde, The House Bunny, and the Emmy winning series Trinkets on Netflix. She co-wrote a reinterpretation of 10 for Warner Bros. O’Toole. She helped shape the Charmed reboot for The CW. Her credits include the hit series Jane The Virgin, Selfie and The Carrie Diaries.
The fanning is being repeated by Echo Lake Entertainment, United Talent Agency, and Hansen Jacobson. Highmore is again looked after by ARG, UTA and Felker Toczek. Kiwi Smith is again taken care of by Verve, Kaplan / Perrone and the lawyers Karl Austen and Adam Cooper. Jessica O’Toole will again be mentored by Verve, manager Sukee Chew and attorney Eric Brooks.
