Dana White’s final five-week stay on ‘Fight Island’ will be as comfortable as possible for the UFC supremo after showing off some of the amenities that Abu Dhabi’s tourism board has set for him.
After a string of events at their Apex facility in Las Vegas, the UFC has again retired to the UAE for five battle tickets on Yas Island in five weeks – and given the time Dana White will be on location, the hosts of Abu Dhabi have left no stone unturned in their greeting.
“Last time and this time, they built my own gym for me,” White said in a video posted on his Twitter account. “Except this time, they were trying to make me feel at home because I’m going to be here for five weeks. That’s all I have in my gym in the UFC offices.”
White shows off his personal fitness center with a range of exercise machines and posters with motivational quotes from Bruce Lee, Muhammad Ali, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
“These people are so good at service, the service is second to none,” explains White, who is now in his hotel room before showing off a personalized menu that the hotel chefs have put together for him. It has sections called “F * ck it days” and “The usual bullsh * t” – a selection of foods based on what he last liked during the UFC’s last spell on “Fight Island”.
His bedroom also has pillows that read “UPFC” – The Ultimate Pillow Fighting Championship.
However, it’s not all fun and games for the UFC President. The ongoing coronavirus health crisis means he must undergo regular Covid-19 tests (of which he shows one) – while undergoing a dental emergency shortly after arriving in his hotel room.
This weekend’s UFC 253 kicks off in Abu Dhabi, a fight card led by the middleweight title fight between Master Israel Adesanya and top contender Paulo Costa.
