Disturbed former NBA champ Lamar Odom, who was married to reality TV sensation Khloe Kardashian for seven years, broke up with his fitness model fiancée shortly after the explosion caused by his ex-wife on social media.
Former Los Angeles Lakers hero Odom had shared a steamy post with his girlfriend, top athlete and hugely popular fitness model Sabrina Parr just weeks before she announced on Instagram that they were no longer an item.
Parr broke up with the 40-year-old shortly after his ex-wife Liza Morales beat him up in a series of posts on Instagram that ended with demands that one of his three children miss her money with her.
“Let’s get to the real,” she wrote. “Where’s Lamar Jr.’s college money? We asked for it.”
In a post that pointed out that Odom may have had more of the addiction problems he has faced in his past, Parr revealed, “Lamar has some things to work through on his own.
“I love him very much, but I can no longer be by his side while he seeks the help he so desperately needs.
“I wish him well and ask you to pray for everyone involved.”
Odom had married a slew of personal issues during his relationship with Khloe Kardashian, whom he married a month after they met at a party for one of his Lakers teammates in 2009.
These included driving while under the influence from 2013 and near-dying days after using cocaine in 2015 when he suffered from kidney failure and multiple heart attacks and strokes before receiving life support in hospital.
Odom made multiple appearances on the reality TV hit that made Khloe and her family stratospheric famous, “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” and briefly starred in a spin-off with his then-wife before pulling out when it was after two series was deleted.
He has been involved in a number of court battles with Morales, which will also make its reality television debut on the new VH1 show Basketball Wives.
Parr and Odom seemed happy when they hugged at their engagement party less than two months ago on what he described as “perfect”.
“It was so important to me that my family and friends – especially my daughter – were with me this time,” Odom wrote on his platform.
When he showed up topless over his scantily clad partner in a gym last month, he called Parr his “baby doll” and “naturally gorgeous” and told his followers of more than 719,000 to download their “incredible” new e-book on body transformation .
He also looked slim as he trained with a personal trainer and offered to message fans after his engagement party, although he fell silent for a few weeks before posting a post on business in support of a black-owned tech company last week.
Odom began with the Los Angeles Clippers as a teenager and spent four years with the team before completing a season with the Miami Heat.
The forward won his first NBA title with the Lakers in 2009 and signed a long-term $ 33 million deal with the team that same year.
He briefly returned to the Clippers but found no shape and moved to the Spanish side Laboral Kutxa Baskonia.
After a stint at the New York Knicks, he joined the Phillipine team Mighty Sports for a tournament in Dubai in early 2019 and shortly afterwards played in a US basketball league founded by rapper Ice Cube.
