[Follow our live coverage of Oprah’s Interview with Meghan and Harry]
When Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Oprah Winfrey present their side of a sensational royal rupture on Sunday evening from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Eastern, it is sure to be one of the most anticipated and most heavily spun television interviews in recent memory.
CBS and Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Productions has raised expectations for the two-hour prime-time programming on CBS and CBS.com, which will air Monday night on the ITV network in the UK. Peekaboo excerpts show that she is sitting with Prince Harry and his wife Meghan in a relaxed outdoor setting, but they only offer a glimpse of what they’re talking about.
“Did you keep silent or were you silenced?” Mrs. Winfrey asks at one point when Meghan looks at her but says nothing. “You said some pretty shocking things here,” she says of another as dramatic music emerges.
Harry, who will be joining Meghan in the second half of the interview, appears briefly in an excerpt and says, “My biggest concern was that history would repeat itself.” This is an obvious clue to the fate of his mother, Princess Diana, who was killed in a car accident in Paris in 1997 after a high-speed chase with photographers.
