It may have taken 20+ fights, but Russian featherweight Dzhikhad Yunusov finally has a legitimate knockout on his record – and we’re sure you’ll agree that this one was more than worth the wait.
Seasoned ACA competitor Yunusov, who most recently took a win and a loss with ex-UFC veteran Diego Brandao, is better known for being a gritty, hard-to-finish fighter with more than enough in his gas tank to trigger a fight at a distance, as evidenced by the 12 decisive victories in his record.
This time, however, it seemed as if Yunusov had left the oven on at home, measured by the speed with which he met his Brazilian opponent, now 14-2 Leonardo Limberger, at the ACA 117 event on Friday at the WOW Arena in Krasnaya Polyana posted.
After just under two minutes in the first round, Yunusov threw a spinning elbow shot against the fence from the clinch position. The technique connected the square to Limberger’s jaw, causing it to fall onto the canvas.
The blow caused the referee to step in immediately and declare the fight, handing Yunusov over – by far the most impressive end to his career. In fact, the only other KO or TKO win on his résumé came from an interruption from the doctor four years ago.
Oh my God. Insane elbow KO at ACA. Dzhikhad Yunusov went to a double leg and then threw up an inverted elbow, which landed CLEAN. Bad knockout

The win prompted some MMA fans to compare it to the infamous scything elbow technique Yair Rodriguez used in his summer beater, the final second win against ‘The Korean Zombie’ Chan Sung Jung ‘in late 2018.
But one thing is certain; Neither Yunusov nor the fans present will soon forget the spectacular end of the Russian fighter.
And Limberger? Well, that’s a whole different matter.
