Jeff Dunham’s completely untried last minute pandemic vacation special was a hit with Comedy Central. The special, which aired on Thanksgiving weekend, drew 1.8 million viewers when it premiered on Friday, November 27 at 8:00 p.m. According to the network and Nielsen, it is Comedy Central’s most-watched stand-up special in five years.

In five television programs (Friday, November 27, 8:00 p.m., 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., Saturday, November 28, 12:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 29, 10:00 p.m.) the special drew a total of 4.2 million viewers and was recognized as a second highest cable broadcaster, according to Nielsen Live + 3, the premiere of the comedy-comedy of the year is the most watched premiere of the year, only behind South Park’s The Pandemic Special.

Jeff Dunham’s completely untried last-minute pandemic Christmas special was the first of three comedy specials Dunham posted on Comedy Central and his tenth overall win. The other two specials are due to be released in 2021. His Pandemic Holiday Special, which comedians say contains brand-new material that has not been tried or tested, was filmed in Malibu, California, in front of a small, socially distant audience and a production run on Covid-19 safety protocols.

In addition to Troy Miller, Michael Rotenberg and Troy Zien of 3Arts, Dunham was also executive producer of the special. Ryan Moran and Fazeela Shaikh are the executives responsible for producing Comedy Central.
