The Los Angeles Philharmonic announced that all events at the Walt Disney Concert Hall have been canceled until June 2021. The music organization announced this on Tuesday and shared with members and Angelenos a full list of the events that have been removed from the calendar.
From Halloween Organ & Film on October 31st to December 19th, Holiday Sing-Along and New Year’s Eve with Pink Martini, the full list of LA Phil’s now-canceled events includes a range of music events. Other events that made the difference thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic are Chanticleer Christmas, Strawinsky & Tchaikovsky and SFJAZZ Collective & Lizz Wright.
When announcing the canceled shows, LA Phil gave ticket holders information about refunds and subscriptions. For subscribers, all subscriptions for 2020/21 have been moved to the 2021/22 season. Tickets for all canceled events can be donated, exchanged for credit or refunded.
Despite cancellations for personal shows, LA Phil plans to offer music and art lovers special content through media partnerships and digital initiatives through 2021, including concert films, essays and interviews.
“Cultural institutions like ours have to be part of the structure of
our community, and in this challenging time we must strive to inspire
and empower people even more through our music and our program, ”said Gustavo Dudamel, music and artistic director of LA Phil.
