After the sad news got around, many social media outlets flooded with sweet news to honor and celebrate him.
One came from the co-host of The View Meghan McCain who tweeted some throwback posts and mentioned Larry was a “real friend”.
She wrote in part: ‘There are’ friends’ in this industry and there are real friends that I can count on on the one hand. Larry was one of those people. Right from the start of my career, when nobody took me seriously, he gave me a platform, opportunities, guidance and support and always treated me with the greatest respect. ‘
Meghan also mentioned that she’s been on his show many times and even had to stand up for him as a host.
She said that he was great at giving career advice that was “old school”, entertaining, funny and “an experience” every time she went on his show.
“You are an institution, a broadcast legend that will never be replaced and will really be missed. Television is less interesting without you, ”she concluded her tribute.
