Roommate, after Netflix pissed fans off late last year, it’s closer than ever to ditching its highly anticipated series about murdered Tejano singer Selena. The streaming service finally dropped the official full-length trailer for the show, which takes a closer look at Christian Serratos in the lead role of Selena Quintanilla.
As the debut of Selena: The Series nears its December 4th release date, Netflix has released the show’s first extended trailer. “The Walking Dead” star Christian Serratos portrays Selena Quintanilla, the queen of Tejano music, in the nine-episode biographical drama that documents her early years soars to fame and tragic murder.
Selena: The Series creator and executive producer Moisés Zamora spoke about what fans can expect from the project:
“I can’t tell you exactly what timeframe we will cover, but I can say that we have many special surprises ahead of us. Fans can expect us to dig into the depths of this family’s journey, including their early days from gig to gig. Selena had been out since she was 11 or 12 and it really was a family affair. You will see her grow up as she transforms into an incredibly confident superstar that everyone knows and loves. We’ll dive into family dynamics and show some interesting things people don’t know about the Quintanillas. “
“Selena: The Series” plays Madison Taylor Baez, who plays Selena in the earlier scenes in the series. The Quintanilla family is represented by Ricardo Chavira as Selena’s father Abraham. Seidy Lopez when she was the singer’s mother, Marcella; Gabriel Chavarria, who appears as her brother AB; and Noemi Gonzalez as her sister Suzette, who served as executive producer on the series. Selena’s husband Chris Perez is played by Jesse Posey. “On My Block” star Julio Macias plays Pete Astudillo.
