Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger continued to test negative for the novel coronavirus and received final approval to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, according to a person familiar with the test results.

Roethlisberger said he remotely attended team meetings, watched an exercise video, and exchanged text messages with coaches. He also spent the week keeping his wife and children safe and healthy. He said he wore a mask around the house and slept in a separate room from his wife. His family members were tested for the coronavirus every other day while he underwent the NFL’s daily tests.
