A North Korean man, allegedly a former gymnast, defected south by apparently arching over a ten-foot wire fence on the heavily guarded border.
The nameless man, who is said to be in his mid-20s, managed to avoid detection by North Korean troops and jumped over the wire fence without triggering sensor alarms.

According to local media, the fence looked depressed but appeared “not to have been modified or cut”.
He traveled through the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) to South Korea on November 3 at around 7 p.m. local time before being captured by South Korean soldiers less than a mile from the border 14 hours later.
The defector has been taken into custody and is reportedly seeking political asylum in South Korea.
Seoul officials investigating the incident allegedly tricked the man into recreating his insane jump twice to ensure he could have jumped over the border.
The man’s light body weight and gymnastics training apparently helped him build the anti-gravity vault in a daring attempt to escape.
