Veteran Russian heavyweight star Sergei Kharitonov is showing no signs of slowing down at the age of 40 after scoring a sensational one-shot knockout against former UFC fighter Oli Thompson at a mixed martial arts event in Dubai.

The interruption came at the 2:54 mark on the first frame and followed Kharitonov’s February knockout against Fernando Rodrigurez Jr. in February, which came just eight seconds into the second round.
The win is the 32nd in Kharitonov’s career, 21 of which come as a knockout. He also holds a record of 7 wins and 4 losses in kickboxing.
Kharitonov also made his professional boxing debut in September, defeating former Mike Tyson opponent Danny Williams by TKO in the second round in Khimki, northwest of central Moscow.
Sergei Kharitonov One-Shot Faceplants Oli Thompson is still the best father in MMA and perhaps the most perfect heavyweight in the sport. Whenever I think of the fact that he made his living jumping out of airplanes, I imagine him landing on people and crushing them.

This particular fight was perhaps more memorable for the method by which Kharitonov got to the ring than for what he did in it after being accompanied by a live bear – which caused great dismay among the commentators who did so at first it was assumed that the bear was a man in a costume.
And whether or not the bear intimidated Williams remains unclear, but this type of white knuckle strike is a given for Kharitonov, who credits his time with the Russian airborne troops for the icy demeanor he brings into the cage.
