San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich has targeted outgoing President Donald Trump and Republican Senators Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley after protesters violently violated the Capitol, resulting in five deaths.

Popovich, who is also the team’s president, has made no secret of his dislike for Trump and his presidency for the past four years and has been asked many times how he takes up certain stories that have come up over the course of Trump’s tenure.

But after the scenes that shocked the world as right-wing protesters and were set on fire after a rally by Trump himself, stormed the Capitol and forced senators and house officials to hide for their own safety, Popovich has spoken again of his disgust when he set fire to Trump and those who have tried to capitalize on the chaos of the past few days.

In a long rant, Popovich said he was a firm believer Trump was enjoying the chaotic scenes at the Capitol that eventually resulted in the deaths of five people.

“I believe with all my heart that Trump enjoyed it,” he said.

“They talked about the police and how easy it was and they just walked in. That only happens when there is a wink and a nod somewhere. It doesn’t just happen.”

“There was no preparation. He didn’t want any preparation,” he continued.

“He doesn’t care. He loved these people who meet the Capitol because he cares. He’s unable to care. In some ways it’s sad because he’s a crazy and really flawed person. But he is.” also dangerous. “

Popovich also targeted Senators Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz, who is a senator from Popovich’s home state of Texas.

“All of these people – Hawley is kidding. This legitimate, elitist-educated person is really smart, just as Ted Cruz is smart. They threw fuel on Trump’s fire,” Popovich said.

“They are worse than Trump because they are not sick. They are not deeply flawed. Mr. Trump is not a good man. These people are healthy.

“But their self-interest, their greed and their lust for power outweigh their love for the country or their sense of duty to the constitution or the public service.”

Because of its political content, Popovich’s comments received polarizing responses online. One fan tweeted, “It must suck being @tedcruz realizing that he’s never going to have the admiration of Texans like Pop does.”

Another said, “I love this guy. He’s shooting right from the hip and he’s been #Respect Trump’s number from day one.”

But others were less impressed when one tweet simply tweeted, “Pop just woke up,” while another responded, “They all woke up. It’s funny how all these mainstream people think the same way.”
