Brazilian motorcycle racer Andre Verissimo was ridiculed online after a fiasco at the finish line when he partied too early and ended up only third in the Superbike Brazil race.

The racer was leading as he decided to triumphantly stand on his bike and raise his hands to celebrate what he thought was an undeniable victory.

However, his dreams of enjoying the taste of winning were shattered by two other competitors, Osvaldo Filho and Marcelo Skaf, who ran behind him.

The duo quickly overtook the unfortunate driver who was vigorously celebrating his “victory”, leaving him only in third place.

The bizarre episode was shared on social media with fans laughing at the ridiculous ending and saying you had to be “an idiot” to lose the race in such a stupid way.

“What an idiot,” wrote one user.

“Such mistakes often occur in different categories of motorsport. And there will always be more, ”added another person.
