The San Francisco 49ers closed their training facility and worked remotely on Wednesday, the night before their scheduled game against the Green Bay Packers, after a Niners player tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

The NFL planned to play the 49ers-Packers game as scheduled on Thursday night in Santa Clara, Calif., Starting Wednesday lunchtime, according to a person familiar with the matter. The league and the 49ers conducted contact tracing. Any player or coach identified as high risk close contacts of the player who tested positive, supposedly broad receiver Kendrick Bourne, would be put into mandatory five days of isolation and would miss the game.
