Law enforcement agencies were notified of a “mass casualty situation” late Thursday evening at a FedEx facility at 8951 Mirabel Road, Indianapolis.
Two employees of the building told the CNN subsidiary WISH-TV that they had heard up to ten shots.
At first, Jeremiah Miller and Timothy Boillat thought the sound was from a car, but after hearing more, Miller got up and saw a man with a gun, he told the station.
“After hearing the shooting, I saw a body on the ground behind a vehicle,” Boillat said.
The two men left the building and watched as about 30 police cars arrive to answer, Boillat said.
Autobahn closed: The nearby main drag, I-70, was named Sgt. John Perrine, according to Indiana State Police. “Please look for alternative routes,” he tweeted.
The freeway has reopened, although there is no access to the Ameriplex Parkway from either direction, he later tweeted.
