EXCLUSIVE: Eva Noblezada and Brandon Wardell have joined the cast of family comedy Amblin Partners, Easter Sunday, based on the stand-up comedy and life experiences of comedy star Jo Koy, that revolves around a family reunion to celebrate Easter Sunday. Wardell will portray Junior, the teenage son of Koy’s on-screen role, and Noblezada will play Junior’s girlfriend, Ruth.

Jay Chandrasekhar will direct and write the script with Ken Cheng. Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich from Rideback will be producing. Koy, Cheng, Joe Meloche, Jessica Gao, Jimmy O. Yang, Nick Reynolds from Rideback and Seth William Meier will produce. The studio plans to start production this spring.

Holly Bario, President of Production, and Mia Maniscalco, VP Creative Affairs, will oversee the project for the studio.

Wardell is a comedian best known for his work on Comedy Central and for appearances on Curb Your Enthusiasm, Like and Subscribe. I think you should go with Tim Robinson. Wardell hosts a popular podcast with Jack Wagner entitled “Yeah, But Still”, in which guests such as Vampire Weekend, Lizzo and Tim Heidecker and Vulture are included in the list of the 10 best comedy podcasts of 2020 Brandon has with Bob Odenkirk and Bo Burnham toured on his Make Happy tour.

Noblezada made her Broadway debut as the title role in the revival of Miss Saigon, which earned her a Tony Award nomination for “Best Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical.” She also starred in Hadestown, which made her one of only a handful of actors to receive Tony nominations for her first two Broadway roles. For her work on the show, she received a Grammy Award for “Best Music Theater Album”. Noblezada recently made her feature film debut in the critically acclaimed film Yellow Rose.

Wardell will be re-serviced by Avalon Management, and Brecheen, Feldman, Breimer, Silver & Thompson and Noblezada will be re-serviced by UTA and Curtis Brown in London and managed by Schachter Entertainment.
