Max Verstappen is unlikely to be on Russian racing driver Daniil Kvyat’s Christmas card list this year after the man he lost his Red Bull seat confirmed he is now with his ex-girlfriend – the German-born one Model Kelly Piquet – is together.

In a story eerily similar to Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd’s 1983 comedy “Trading Places”, Russian racing driver Kvyat Verstappen has lost both professionally and personally.

First he was pushed out the door of Red Bull Racing by his rival in 2016 – and now it has been revealed that Kvyat’s ex-girlfriend Picquet, daughter of racing icon Nelson Picquet, has teamed up with Verstappen.

Picquet dated Kvyat for three years before they split in 2019. The couple had a child together, but the 32-year-old model started a new relationship with 23-year-old Verstappen after posting a picture of them together on his Instagram profile.

The picture shared with Verstappen’s 3.9 million followers showed the couple on a beach in each other’s arms.

“Happy New Year everyone,” was the beaten address. “Let’s make 2021 a year that we can remember in many ways. I wish you the best of success, love and happiness as I found mine.”

For her part, Picquet supported the message with a simple love heart emoji and added on his own account: “Love is what moves the world. Happy New Year and lots of love.”

Verstappen broke up with his former girlfriend Dilara Sanli in October and apparently wasted little time resuming his love life.

As a teenager, he made his Formula 1 debut in 2015 and quickly usurped Kvyat at Red Bull, holding onto the seat ever since.

Kvyat later shared how he got the news of his replacement when he sat down to watch an episode of the popular HBO series ‘Game of Thrones’ – and he might have had another shock if he’d scrolled Instagram this week .
