The Duggars are generally a very united clan, but Jill Duggar is an exception following her fallout with her massive reality TV family. That being said, she eventually opened up and revealed what led to her decision to distance herself from her relatives.
As it turned out, she and her husband Derick Dillard had little or no control over their own lives and simply couldn’t go on living like this.
Apparently, the duggars were telling them what to and what not to do the whole time, and the couple confirmed that this was the main reason they distanced themselves from their family.
During an interview for PEOPLE, Jill stated, “Our control over the choices of jobs to accept and where to live has been taken from us.”
Derick added, “In the early years of our marriage we spent time and money working towards a few opportunities only to hit a dead end when we were told, ‘Well, you mustn’t. “
Jill mentioned that her decision to leave Counting On in 2017 didn’t go down well with everyone else, but by then we had had enough. We knew that we had to withdraw completely in order to reassess and orient ourselves. ‘
In addition, Jill actively broke many of her conservative rules following her conflict with her famous family.
More precisely, she has a nose ring, wears jeans and even has alcohol when she feels like it!
“Sometimes it’s good when other people are not okay. I never expected this to happen or get to this point, but I realize that I cannot give a schedule of healing. I love my family and they love me. I really just have to follow God’s lead and take it one day at a time, ”Jill told the news agency.
