UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz says Jon Jones switched to heavyweight knowing he was going to lose to Legendary Polish Power and insists he’s ready to meet the former 205-pound king in both weight classes .

Blachowicz scored a career-defining win over the middleweight champion and strong favorites to become a two-division ruler Israel Adesanya at UFC 259, which eventually earned him long-awaited praise in the world of mixed martial arts and him in the top 10 pounds brought in for pound leaderboards.

The 38-year-old Pole previously chased a fight with Jones, who promised a fight after Blachowicz’s knockout win against Corey Anderson in his rematch last February, to be belted out in August after citing a salary dispute with him had UFC and a desire to compete north of 205.

In an interview with RT Sport from his home in the Polish capital Warsaw, Blachowicz said he would have “no problem” hitting Jones on both sides and revealed who would be next in line to win his title.

“You know, I can hit him at 205 or heavyweight. I do not care. So I’m just waiting for the next fight, for the next decision. If the UFC let me know, Jon Jones, I’d love it. If not, I’ll be happy with my next opponent, ”said Blachowicz.

“I think my next opponent will be Glover Teixeira, but we’ll see. But if Jones Jones he’d like to return to … but if you know, I think he’ll stay in the heavyweight division. But if he changed his mind. I wait for him. No problem.”

Beating Adesanya somewhat legitimized Blachowicz’s light heavyweight tenure, as some thought his knockout win over Dominick Reyes was somewhat accidental and led many viewers including the prestigious UFC

After Francis Nagannou’s recent thundering knockout to heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic at UFC 260, Dana White joked that it was time for Jon Jones to move to the 185-pound middleweight division, but the man himself remained defiant that his weight gain wasn’t going to be in vain and instead would push for a payday of $ 10 million with the newly crowned Cameroonian.

Despite earlier statements that he “didn’t understand” Jones’s decision to move up to the heavyweight division, Blachowicz believes the 33-year-old former champion’s plan may contain some logic.

“You know, I understand, you know? At 205 he does almost everything. Nearly. Because he doesn’t fight me. That’s why he does almost everything, ”said Blachowicz.

“And I understand his decision because I think he knew he would lose this fight if he did fight me. So you know he’s making that decision. Okay now I go heavyweight when I go heavyweight when I lose heavyweight I don’t know a problem because you know I won’t stop talking but that wasn’t my weight.

“That was, only you know something like that. And then he comes back to, maybe he comes back to 205, we’ll see.

“But then he will meet me. So we’ll see. I wait for him. He promised me this fight after I knocked out Corey Anderson so I’m just waiting for him but you know we’ll see.

“Come back to 205, he has to fight me because you know I have the champion now. I’m the king of 205. So if you want to get to 205 you will be the first to have to fight him , fight him. “

Jones looks like his gaze is fixed on meeting Ngannou, but has described the proposed $ 10 million valuation of the bid to face the Cameroonian as “far too low”.
