EXCLUSIVE: Richard Plepler’s Eden Productions has hired Borat Subsequent movie co-producer Ashley Underwood to lead development.
Former HBO chairman and CEO Plepler founded Eden after exiting premium cable in 2019. The company has signed an exclusive five-year deal with Apple TV + to develop and produce original series, feature films and documentaries for the streamer.
In Eden, Underwood joins them Josh Tyrangiel, Senior Documentary Producer, and Creative Executive Heather Karpas.
“We are very excited to have Ashley join the Eden team. She has incredible instincts and taste and I am delighted that she is joining us,” said Plepler.
Underwood most recently worked with Sacha Baron Cohen and co-produced Borat Subsequent Moviefilm for the Amazon and Emmy nominated Who Is America? for Showtime.
Previously, Underwood was a producer on NBC’s Dateline and a writer on The Huffington Post. She is a graduate of the American University of Paris and received her JD from John Marshall Law School.
