“I believe that the relationship between a musician and his mother is so important because it is the basis for their understanding of love, which is certainly the greatest muse of any artist,” said Grohl. “Having the opportunity to travel the country and tell the stories of these amazing women behind the curtain not only shed light on the music that inspired them, but also made me appreciate the love I had from my own mother, mine best friend. It goes without saying that we are all indebted to the women who gave us life. Because without it there would be no music. “
“We are excited to be working with Dave, Virginia, Live Nation, Silva Artist Management and Endeavor Content to bring this amazing series exclusively to our Paramount + audiences,” said Bruce Gillmer, ViacomCBS President for Music, Talent, Programming and Events. “Based on Virginia Grohl’s acclaimed book, this series offers a rare glimpse into the intimate and inspiring moments between some of the world’s greatest artists and their mothers – just in time for Mother’s Day.”
From Cradle to Stage is produced by Live Nation Productions in collaboration with Endeavor Content. The series is produced by Dave Grohl and Virginia Hanlon Grohl, Doug Pray (The Defiant), John Ramsay (Sonic Highways), Michael Rapino, Heather Parry, Ryan Kroft and Damian Vaca.
